Scotland Co. Boys Claim Conference Win at Knox Co.

Early game Knox County turnovers fueled a 22-10 first quarter Scotland County advantage. The turnovers eventually balanced out. Knox County dug themselves a hole they couldn’t escape, dropping their Senior Night game to the Tigers by a 54-51 margin.
Tayte Richmond and Braylon Campbell had key first quarters buckets, taking advantage of Knox County turnovers. Scotland County led 16-4 with 3:20 to play in the first period.
Knox County was able to claw their way back into the game. Scotland County saw their lead trimmed to 30-25 at intermission. Alious Hunolt scored near the halftime buzzer for the five point Tiger advantage.
Knox County took the ball inside more in the second half. The Eagles reeled off an 8-2 run for a 50-48 Scotland County lead with 2:27 remaining in the game. Scotland County outscored the Eagles 14-11 in the third quarter for the 44-36 lead.
Braylon Campbell and Carter Clatt hit key Tiger free throws down the stretch. Cooper Clair pulled the Eagles back within a 50-48 deficit with 2:27 to play in the game.
Knox County missed a chance to tie late in the game. Carter Clatt hit a Tiger free throw. Scotland County rebounded a missed free throw. The clock ran out on a furious Knox County comeback try.
Scotland County took home the 54-51 win. Carter Clatt and Levi Stott scored 13 Scotland County points each. Braylon Campbell was in double figures with 11 points. Jaden Bergeson tossed in seven Tiger points.
Carrsen Hayes led Knox County with 15 points. Alious Hunolt scored 12 points. Cooper Clair and Isaac Shahan fired in nine KCHS points each. Dakoda Viley scored four and Nathan Penn added two Eagle points.
