Scotland County Girls Roll Over Brashear

Scotland County defense fueled several Lady Tiger runs on the way to a 60-27 win at Brashear. The January 8, 2026 varsity girls contest saw the visiting Lady Tigers shoot the ball and defend very well.
Scotland County leaped to a 12-2 lead. Elle Hamlin scored with 2:52 in the game. Scotland County employed an effective half court trapping defense, causing Brashear to turn the ball over.
Scotland County led 16-11 after the first quarter. Maddie Moots sank a pair of Brashear (8-5) free throws late in the opening period. Scotland County held Brashear to three first half field goals defensively.
The home team turned the ball over, leading to a 34-15 score at the half. Scotland County reeled off a 22-3 third quarter run for a 56-18 lead at the three quarter pole.
Scotland County sank 22 field goals while allowing seven field goals on defense. Brashear made 13 of 25 free throws. The visiting Tigers put in seven of 14 from the line.
Elle Hamlin led all scorers with 16 Scotland County points. Makenna Musgrove was in double figures with 14 points. Lilly Frederick put in seven SC points.
Heidi Lay led Brashear with 11 points. Maddie Moots scored seven points. Kennedy Gray put in six and Audrey Erwin added three Tiger points.
