OSAGE BEACH, Mo. – Hometown Radio Group General Manager and Sports Director Corey Stott was recently honored with a prestigious award as part of the annual Missouri Broadcasters Association convention held May 30th and 31st at Margaritaville Lake Resort. Stott was recognized in the Best Play-by-Play category with a second place in the state award. The award was presented in recognition of Stott’s live play-by-play call of high school sports action on 100.5 KMEM-FM. The MBA presented 263 awards, named a Lifetime MBA Member and presented the Distinguished Broadcaster Award during the convention. MBA Hall of Famer and Cardinals broadcaster John Rooney hosted the Hall of Fame Banquet during which the MBA inducted six new members, including Monday Night Football play-by-play man Joe Buck, as well as longtime St. Louis Cardinals Radio Network chief engineer Jim Jackson. “It’s a huge honor, and very humbling”, Stott said. “This award would not be possible if not for the efforts of our entire team. Meredith McCluskey has spent almost as many evenings away from home as I have to produce many of the games we put on the airwaves. Our owner/engineer Mark McVey does a great job making sure that our equipment works the way it’s supposed to. There are many other folks who help produce or broadcast games, or work in sponsorship sales for us at KMEM. I appreciate all of them and the hard work they put in to make sure that our local sports broadcasts are among the best in the state.”
