Memphis Man Arrested on Multiple Child Sex Abuse Charges

MEMPHIS, Mo. — A Memphis man was arrested last week in connection with a wide-ranging child sex abuse investigation involving multiple charges, including statutory sodomy and child molestation.
Michael B. Martin, 47, was taken into custody at 10:15 a.m. on June 2 by officers from the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team (STAT), the Memphis Police Department, the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Fugitive Apprehension Division. He was apprehended without incident and is being held at the Scotland County Jail on a $150,000 cash-only bond.
In Case Number 25E-CR00027, Martin is facing a total of 10 charges related to the alleged abuse of a minor, including six counts of statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy involving deviate sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 14. He also faces single counts of second-degree child molestation involving a child under 12, first-degree sexual misconduct involving a child under 15, endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree, and furnishing pornographic material to a minor.
The charges are part of an investigation conducted by STAT, a specialized unit focused on crimes against children.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
