Scotland County’s Hamlin Shines at Class 2 Track Championships
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Scotland County senior Kwyn Hamlin capped her high school track career with standout performances at the 2025 MSHSAA Class 2 Girls Track and Field State Championships, held May 23–24 at Adkins Stadium.
Hamlin advanced to the finals in the 200-meter dash, where she placed seventh with a time of 25.99 seconds. She narrowly missed advancing in the 100-meter dash, finishing ninth in the preliminaries with a time of 12.92 seconds — just 0.01 seconds behind the final qualifying spot.
She also earned a silver medal in the high jump, clearing 1.61 meters (5 feet, 3.25 inches), tying for second place.
In the 300-meter hurdles, sophomore Deana McKinney represented Scotland County, finishing 13th in the preliminaries with a time of 50.12 seconds.
Senior Charlee Holland placed seventh in the long jump with a mark of 5.11 meters (16 feet, 9.25 inches), rounding out a strong showing for Scotland County.
The Tigers finished 17th in the overall team standings, tallying 12 points.
