Hamlin, McKinney Power Scotland County at Knox County Invitational
EDINA, Mo. — Scotland County High School’s track and field teams made a statement at the Knox County Invitational on April 1, led by multiple first-place finishes from Kwyn Hamlin, Charlee Holland, and Deana McKinney. The Lady Tigers took top honors in a variety of events, while the boys team turned in solid performances in hurdles and field events.
GIRLS RESULTS
Kwyn Hamlin delivered a standout performance with victories in the 100-meter dash (13.86), 200 (27.49), and high jump (1.45 meters). Charlee Holland added a win in the long jump with a 5-meter leap and took first in triple jump (9.31m). She also placed third in the 100 (14.36).
McKinney swept the hurdles events, winning the 100-meter hurdles in 18.46 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 52.76. Holly Mauck followed in the 100 hurdles with a second-place finish (19.85).
Alyzabeth Ambrose took fifth in the 800-meter run (3:19.38), while the 4×100-meter relay team earned first place in 55.78 seconds.
In throws, Matyson Buford earned first in shot put (9.27m) and third in javelin (25.53m). Natalie Lucas placed fifth in discus (21.74m) and 13th in shot (6.69m). Sadie Jackson finished 10th in discus (18.78m), and Caylei Romore was 12th in javelin (13.25m).
BOYS RESULTS
Frederik Winther led the boys team with a third-place finish in the high jump (1.65 meters), sixth in the 100-meter dash (13.13), sixth in long jump (5.42m), and ninth in the 200 (27.04). Taygen Miller placed 11th in the 100 (14.29) and 12th in the 200 (29.32).
In distance events, Cason Talbert finished 10th in the 400 (1:05.71), and Jacob Stott placed 11th (1:06.11). Lane Pflum took eighth in the 800 (2:53.88), with Stott finishing 10th (2:56.48). Levi Wright placed fifth in the 1,600 (5:43.96) and third in the 3,200 (11:39.13).
Braylon Campbell earned third in the 110-meter hurdles (20.33), sixth in the 300 hurdles (53.92), and second in the triple jump (10.45m). Talbert placed fifth in the 110 hurdles (20.71) and 11th in long jump (4.58m).
In throws, Craig Pflum finished fourth in discus (24.06m) and 10th in shot put (7.36m). Jathan Fuller was fifth in both discus (21.65m) and shot put (9.76m). Pflum also placed 12th in the javelin (20.84m).
