The Memphis Community Players will celebrate their 50th anniversary this summer with the production of “Clue: On Stage” on August 6, 7, 8, and 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the Memphis Theatre. “Clue: On Stage” is a play based on the popular 1985 movie “Clue,” which was itself inspired by the classic board game.
The play is a comedic murder mystery where six guests are invited to a mansion for a dinner party thrown by an anonymous host. The guests are given aliases–Colonel Mustard (Joe Fulk), Mrs. White (Christina “Chrissy” Myers), Mr. Green (Mason Trimby), Mrs. Peacock (Lori Fulk), Professor Plum (John Myers, and Miss Scarlet (Teresa Cotton). All of them have fallen victim to the same blackmailer, their very host of the evening, and each is presented with a weapon and an option: pay their extortionist double, or kill the innocent butler (Tom Cotton).
Other characters appearing in the production are the French Maid (Amber Brown), the Cook (Theresa Fleming), Mr. Boddy (Uriah Ogle), the Motorist (Lynnette Dyer), the Unexpected Cop (Brent Karhoff), the Chief of Police (Jeff Dyer), the Cop (Angie Tipling), Newscaster (Scott Hathaway), and the Singing Telegram Girl (Guinevere Barrientos).
Sheila Berkowitz and Brooke Wineinger are directors for the production which is being produced by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing Group and Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York, New York.
Tickets for the performance are $10.00. Theatre Box Office hours will be from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily July 29, 30, 31, and August 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. Patrons may call 660 465-2277 for reservations as well.
Theatre patrons are encouraged to come and see the “characters” as they try to figure out “who did it, where, and with what!”.
