Frederik Winther, a sophomore at Scotland County High School, presented a program to the members of the Rotary Club of Scotland County on April 2, 2025. He is a 16-year-old foreign exchange student from Denmark and his host parents are James & Stacie Whitacker of Memphis. His mother, Anja Berg Winther, was a foreign exchange student at SCR-1 High School 30 years ago. She was hosted by the late Bob & Marie Brown. Frederik has been to the USA several times with his family and his younger brother plans to be an exchange student in Scotland County in the future. Frederik's school year in America does not count for credit in Denmark and he will re-take his 10th grade year in Denmark. Frederik has enjoyed all of the sports opportunities at SCR-1 and he was named an All-State Second Team Kicker for the SC Tigers Football Team last fall. Frederik has signed a contract to play on the Denmark National Football Team when he returns to his country in May.
