BEVERLY PRICE GIVENS
Beverly Price Givens, 86, of Memphis, Missouri, passed away at her residence in Memphis, Missouri, on Friday, January 3, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Beverly was born on January 23, 1938, in rural Clark County, Missouri, the daughter of Fred M. and Edna Lee Price Peterson.
She attended the Price School near Gorin, Missouri.
On August 25, 1953, in Kahoka, Missouri, Beverly married Jack Edwin Givens, and they celebrated fifty years of marriage before he passed away on June 26, 2004.
Jack and Beverly moved around, while raising a family, living in multiple places before settling in Memphis, Missouri in 1981 to make their home.
She had been a member of the Rutledge Baptist Church, where she played piano, before moving her membership to the Memphis First Baptist Church, where she served in various ministries. Everyone enjoyed the food she lovingly prepared for numerous church functions.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and reading, but most of all she loved her kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and beloved pets. She was a selfless woman of God with an unwavering faith who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Reading and studying her Bible was a priority which was reflected in her perseverance in times of adversity. Shining the light and love of Jesus, she was compassionate, caring, considerate and generous to all she met. Her kind, sweet smile was contagious and could light up a room. She spent many hours playing her piano and singing worship music with her family. The kitchen was one of her favorite rooms where she effortlessly prepared many scrumptious home cooked meals and baked goodies. Her homemade noodles was one of her family’s favorites. She was the rock of her family and always willing to listen and encourage them. Her hugs were the best and the way her eyes lit up when her family members visited will be one of many treasured memories. One of her most heartfelt prayers was that her loved ones know and accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. She blessed and touched many lives and will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her.
