 STANLEY EUGENE STRONG 

HAMILTON, Ill. – Stanley Eugene Strong, 73, of Hamilton, Illinois, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. 

Stanley was born to Phillip and Thelma (Riddington) Strong on Aug. 21, 1950, in Ottumwa, Iowa. 

He graduated from Scotland County High School in 1968 and went to Quincy Tech where he graduated, and continued on to SCC in Keokuk. 

He went to work at Shellor Globe for 20 years before moving to Marshalltown, Iowa, to work for Lennox Crop. as a mechanical engineer, and was there for 20 years, until his retirement.

On Sept. 25, 2004, he was united in marriage with Joan Casley at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Hamilton. 

Stanley is survived by his wife Joan; stepson Mike Cecil; two granddaughters, Ava and Sophie, of North Port, Florida; three brothers, Dennis (Vickie) of Alexandria, Minnesota, Richard (Dee) of Springfield, Missouri, and Jeff of Tucson, Arizona; one brother-in-law Garry (Mary) Casley; two sisters-in-law, Jan Conover and Mary Beth Lung; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers; grandparents; and in-laws, Harold and Betty Casley. 

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Hamilton, where visitation will be held two hours prior. The Rev. Mark Hanson will officiate.
