 SUSAN PEARL ERICKSON 

Susan Pearl Erickson, 65, of West Lafayette, Indiana, passed away May 12, 2024, at home, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Her family was by her side as she peacefully passed. Susan was born on August 16, 1958, to Richard and Lorene (Huffman) Young in Terre Haute IN. After high school, she attended Vincennes University and became a surgical technologist. 

Susan married Alan Erickson, formerly of Gorin, on November 16, 1996, in West Lafayette, IN. Susan was a woman of Faith. She loved kids (especially her grandkids), pets, and vacationing in Clearwater, Florida. She operated an in-home daycare for several years. Her claim to fame was that she shares her birthdate with Madonna. 

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Michael Young, and niece, Amanda Young. 

She is survived by her husband, Alan, of West Lafayette, brother, Sam (Helen) Young of Terre Haute, sister, Elizabeth Shrock of Terre Haute, children: Heather (Ben) Colglazier of West Lafayette, Timothy Bennett (Lana Harvey) of Lafayette, IN, Jennifer (Josh) Wright of Lafayette, Bruce (Melanie) Bennett of Fishers, IN, Alisan (Jordan) Gerber of New Albany, IN, Lauren Erickson of Lafayette. Also surviving are grandchildren, Brittany (Matt) Manes, Arianna Colglazier, Adeline Colglazier, Liam Colglazier, Anthony Klooz, Grace Klooz, Maddie Wright, and Willow Klooz; and great-grandchildren, Paisley and Jackson Manes. Susan is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. 

A private gathering was held on Saturday, May 18 to honor Susan.
