Holland, Moore Lead Scotland County Girls At Class 1 District 3 Meet
GLASGOW, Mo. — Scotland County’s girls delivered a strong district performance Saturday, May 9, at the MSHSAA Class 1 District 3 track and field meet at Glasgow High School, led by district titles from Charlee Holland and Kierstyn Moore.
Holland won the girls long jump with a mark of 5.23 meters and added sectional-qualifying finishes in the 100-meter dash and triple jump. She placed second in the triple jump at 10.16 meters and third in the 100 in 13.43 seconds.
Moore won the girls 3,200-meter run in 13:30.49 and placed second in the 1,600 in 6:00.45, advancing in both events. The top four finishers in each event qualified for sectionals next weekend.
Scotland County also picked up runner-up finishes from Deana McKinney in the 300-meter hurdles and Matyson Buford in both the discus and shot put. McKinney placed second in the 300 hurdles in 49.81 and third in the high jump at 1.45 meters. Buford threw 31.42 meters in the discus and 10.03 meters in the shot put.
Reagan Brewer added a fourth-place sectional berth in the 800-meter run, and Scotland County’s girls 4×100 and 4×800 relays also advanced.
