HENRY FRANKLIN SCHUBERT

December 20, 1964 – May 5, 2026

Henry Franklin Schubert, 61 of rural Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of Donald Edwin and Mary Maude (Camden) Schubert, he was born on December 20, 1964 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a 1983 graduate of the Schuyler R-I High School in Lancaster, Missouri. On May 22, 1991 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Queen City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Marcia Ann Kearns and to this union two children were born, Tucker and Laynee.

Henry is survived by his wife, Marcia Schubert of Lancaster, Missouri, two children, Tucker Schubert and wife, Hannah of Bloomfield, Iowa and Laynee Shaw and husband, Braxton of Lancaster, Missouri; two grandsons, Hendrix Schubert of Bloomfield, Iowa and Brigham Shaw of Lancaster, Missouri; nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; other family members and so many good friends.

Henry is preceded by his parents; one brother, Edwin “Goob” Schubert on December 8, 2020 and his mother-in-law, Carol A. Hasselbring on March 4, 2025.

Henry served as a member of the Germania Cemetery Board. He worked for MFA in Lancaster and Kirksville, Missouri for many years. When he wasn’t at work with MFA, he was working on the farm where he and Marcia lived and raised their family. Henry enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, drinking beer and running his mouth, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons!

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri at 2:00 p.m. with Ryan Bushnell of St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Queen City, Missouri officiating, assisted by Sonny Smyser of Lancaster, Missouri. Music will be special selections of “Right Where I Need to Be,” “The Dance,” “Tough Little Boys” and “Bad Seamstress Blues.” Pallbearers will be Karmen Burt, Henry Cook, Mark Bushnell, Danny Murphy, Kevin Lovekamp and Stanley Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Bushnell, Andy Anderson, Pam Lyons and Kim Beeler. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for Germania Cemetery or Schuyler County Cancer Relief Fund. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
