Scotland County Boys Claim Win At Brashear

Scotland County staked out a five point lead during the opening moments of their non conference varsity boys game at Brashear and powered to a 67-48 win. Carter Clatt led three SC boys in double figures with 19 points.

Scotland County caused turnovers with their size and defense. Brashear battled back within a 7-5 deficit when Kienni Scott took the rock off the glass at the 2:54 mark of the first quarter. Levi Clark canned a three seconds later for the 7-5 Scotland County lead.

Tayte Richmond led a late first quarter Scotland County surge to a 16-7 lead after one period. Richmond slam dunked the basketball and hit a three around the minute mark of the first quarter.

Carter Clatt drove the lane for a 22-9 Scotland County advantage with 6:19 to play in the first half. Kaden McMann scored for Brashear for a 24-15 tally with 2:55 to play in the second quarter.

Scotland County led 29-17 at intermission. The visitors had open lanes to the basket during a second half run. The Tigers led 52-34 after three quarters. Cade Erwin hit a Brashear three pointer for a 52-40 Scotland County lead with 6:20 to play in the game. Tayte Richmond answered with a SC three point play and a 55-40 lead with 5:26 remaining.

Scotland County scored 22 field goals to 13 for Brashear. Levi Clark fired in 16 Brashear points. Cade Erwin was in double figures with 15 Brashear points. Kienni Scott used the backboard to score in double digits with 12 BHS points.

Kaden McMann scored four and Cole Erwin put in a BHS Tiger point.

Carter Clatt scored 19 points for Scotland County. Tayte Richmond finished with 14 points. Jaden Bergewon scored ten points. Kwayde Hamlin tossed in seven SC points. Braylon Campbell put in six points. Dane Blessing scored five points. Levi Stott scored four and Evan Arnold added two Scotland County points.
