Highland Girls Top Tigers

Highland blew open their December 15, 2025 varsity girls game at Scotland County (4-2) with a defensive driven 16-3 second quarter run and powered to a 58-39 win. The Tigers started off well, scoring the first five points of the evening.

The Lady Cougars (6-1) exploded on a 16-6 run to a 16-11 first quarter lead. Emma Berry buried a Highland three with 45 seconds in the first period for the five point edge after one period of play.

Chevie Sharpe nailed a Cougar home run ball for a 33-13 lead with 3:49 to play in the first half. Freshman Ella Vaughn hit the offensive boards and scored a put back. Emma Berry buried another three for a 39-14 lead at the half.

Highland’s young players handled much of the third quarter. Scotland County came back within a 45-23 deficit. Highland moved in for the kill early in the fourth quarter. The Lady Cougars got to the rim and finished, leading 56-29 on a Keera Rothweiler hoop.

Highland popped eight three ball while allowing only two defensively in the contest. The Tigers did well at the free throw line going 9-17 at the stripe. Highland went 6-12 at the free throw line.

Keera Rothweiler led all scorers with 15 Highland points. Josie Murphy and Chevie Sharpe scored nine points each. Emma Berry tallied eight points. Abby Lay and Addy Abell scored six points each. Malia Thomas and Ella Vaughn scored two points each. Ali Lundberg added one Highland point.

Myah Holt led Scotland County with ten points. Charlee Holland and MaKenna Musgrove added six points each.
