RICHARD EUGENE HURLEY

Richard Eugene Hurley, 66, of Memphis, Missouri, passed away at the Milan Health Care Center in Milan, Missouri.

He was born on January 28, 1959, in Unionville, Missouri, the son of Glenn and Josephine Lucas Hurley.

Richard attended Putnam County and Schuyler County Schools before attending Indian Hills in Ottumwa, Iowa.

He honorably served his country in the United States Navy.

He worked for Coopers Printing, Excellsior Printing, before owning and operating Memphis Printing.

Richard married Katherine Hanson and later Jillynda Fry and they both preceded him in death.

He enjoyed his animals, taking his dog to the lake, working on a lot of projects, and hauling the Amish around.

Richard is survived by his mother, Josephine Mathes of Queen City, Missouri; three children, Jill and Tyrel Wolfe of Memphis, Missouri, Donald and Billie Hurley of Unionville, Missouri, and Jennifer Stratton of Keokuk, Iowa; two brothers, Joey and Billie Hurley, and James and Diane Hurley all of Downing, Missouri; three sisters, Glennda Gates of Livonia, Missouri, Shirley Anders of Glenwood, Missouri, and Kim and Phil Rojak of Papua, New Guinea; seven grandchildren, Jaxom, Megan, Carter, Kristal, Isabella, Christopher, and Deana; a great grandchild, Nasiha; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded by his father, Glenn Clinton Hurley; a son, Christopher Hurley; three brothers, Arthur, Glenn Lavern and Roger Hurley; a grandchild, Alexis Wolfe; nieces, Alissa Anders and Angie Gates; and a nephew Clinton Hurley.

A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2025, at the Memphis Funeral Home in Memphis, Missouri.

Interment with full military honors will be in the Hurley Family Cemetery, southwest of Livonia, Missouri.

An expression of sympathy in memory of Richard Hurley may be left to the Alexis Wolfe Scholarship Fund or the Dialysis Clinic.
