MEMPHIS, Mo. — Scotland County’s annual Kids Safety Day is set to return Saturday, June 21, with expanded programming and a new location at the Scotland County Fair Grounds. The free, family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is now being held in partnership with the Scotland County Fair’s Ag Day.
Established in 2010, Kids Safety Day aims to educate children and families about health, safety and emergency preparedness through fun and engaging activities. Attendees can expect live safety demonstrations, interactive stations, bounce houses, and opportunities to meet local first responders and explore emergency vehicles.
Free popcorn, cotton candy, hot dogs, and drinks will be available, and door prizes—including grand prizes—will be awarded throughout the day.
Event coordinator Derek Ambrose of the Scotland County Ambulance District said the event’s continued success depends on the generosity of local businesses. Organizers are currently seeking donations to support the cost of supplies, food, and entertainment. Sponsors are recognized throughout the event via signage, social media, and live announcements.
Business owners and individuals interested in donating or volunteering can contact Ambrose at (660) 341-3671. Contributions may be mailed to Scotland County Ambulance District, 435 Grand Ave., Memphis, MO 63555, Attn: Kids Safety Day.
