BECKY SUE PETERSON
Becky Sue Peterson, 67, of Memphis, Missouri passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Country Aire Retirement Center in Lewistown, Missouri. She was born June 22, 1957 in Bloomfield, Iowa. The daughter of Howard and Elaine Parrish.
She graduated from the Scotland County High School in Memphis, Missouri in the Class of 1975. Becky worked as a waitress at Welcome Inn and Junction Café and then later worked for Places in Memphis. She was employed by the Scotland County School as a teacher’s aide and then operated a daycare and a pre-kindergarten class out of her home. Becky cared for many children throughout her life, that was her passion.
She attended the Kahoka Christian Church, for several years, where she could be found spending time with her grandchildren.
She was an avid sewer, and spent many years making costumes for the Community Players as well as making Halloween costumes for her grandkids. She was a crafter and enjoyed fishing, but most of all she loved children, especially her grandkids and their activities.
Becky is survived by two sons, Tyler and Techa Peterson of Hamilton, Illinois and Kolby Peterson of Memphis, Missouri; two daughters, Danielle Peterson of Memphis, Missouri and Shelby McAfee of Kahoka, Missouri; two brothers, Gary and Tena Parrish and Robert and Jeanie Parrish all of Memphis, Missouri; two sisters, Teresa and John Sheahan of Beardstown, Illinois, and Debbie and Charlie Walker of Jacksonville, Illinois; four grandchildren, Slade McAfee of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jaden McAfee of Quincy, Illinois; Lathan McAfee of Kahoka, Missouri; Josie Leroy of Alexandria, Missouri; two great grandsons; Hudson McAfee of Quincy, Illinois and Weston Deters of Alexandria, Missouri; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Elaine Parrish; a son; Chris Parrish; and a sister, Kim Parrish.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Gorin Cemetery in Gorin, Missouri. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 p.m. till 2:00 p.m. at the Memphis Funeral Home in Memphis, Missouri.
