A Granger, Missouri man has been arrested on 16 felony charges stemming from a two-and-a-half-year joint investigation involving the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team, and the Scotland County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Scotland County Sheriff Bryan Whitney, officers served a search warrant at 29639 East Main Street in Granger at approximately 9:16 a.m. on May 6, 2025. The suspect, identified as 51-year-old Jason Jeremiah Tague, was not home at the time. Sheriff Whitney later made contact with Tague by cell phone and persuaded him to surrender. Tague was arrested without incident at 12:50 p.m. and is currently being held in the Scotland County Jail.
Tague faces a total of 16 felony counts, including:
Multiple counts of sodomy or attempted sodomy in the first degree involving victims under the age of 12
Statutory rape in the first degree, involving sexual intercourse with persons under the age of 14
Child molestation in the first degree
Attempted statutory rape
Endangering the welfare of a child involving sexual conduct
The offenses date as far back as 2014 and span several years. Due to the nature of the charges and the danger posed to the community, the court has set a cash-only bond of $150,000. The judge cited concerns about the defendant’s potential risk to the victim and the community, as well as a likelihood of failing to appear, in denying a release on recognizance.
Tague’s arrest warrant was issued under case number 25SE-CR00019 in Scotland County Circuit Court.
Sheriff Whitney credited cooperation among multiple agencies for the successful outcome of the prolonged investigation.
