Brazen Thief Burglarizes Zimmerman’s In Rutledge

Just before 5:00 a.m. Friday morning, June 28, 2024, a brazen thief broke into Zimmerman’s store and restaurant in Rutledge. The burglar forced a customer doorway open, broke into the ATM machine located inside the store, and stole approximately $1,000.
Zimmerman’s is located on Highway M in the center of the town.
The burglary was captured on a nearby surveillance system, which shows the thief driving a white flatbed truck up to the business and making entry through a south facing restaurant door.
The thief is shown leaving the store approximately 15 minutes later.
According to Bill Holland, Scotland County Sheriff’s Deputy/Memphis Police Captain, no other items are believed to have been stolen.
Scotland County Sheriff Bryan Whitney is asking the public to report any information about the burglary to his office at (660)465- 2106.
