 DEE DEE (DIANE) KAYE EGGLESTON

Dee Dee (Diane) Kaye Eggleston passed away on April 5, 2024 at her home after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. She was born on May 31, 1952 to Robert and Marilyn Schlotter in Bloomfield, IA. She attended Wilson School until 4th grade and graduated from Scotland County High School in 1970. She then attended college at Central Methodist University in Fayette, MO.

Dee Dee married John W. Eggleston on November 7, 1971 and they lived in Kansas City for a few years before moving back home to farm north of Memphis, MO. They were blessed with a son, Damen, on May 7, 1975.

Dee Dee most enjoyed being a farm wife, raising Damen, working outside, hunting, and fishing. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting and playing guitar and was very mechanically inclined. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed rooting on the Golden Knights, Chiefs, and Mizzou.

Dee Dee was a woman of faith. She found comfort in attending services with Father Bill at the Memphis Catholic Church following the tragic loss of Damen. Through the years Dee Dee remained strong in her Catholic Faith.

Dee Dee and John made a great team and worked hard to achieve their goals. They were successful farmers, producing both row crops and livestock along with many other business ventures. They also had lots of fun together and enjoyed snowmobiling, razor riding, metal detecting, and entertaining family and friends.

In 2003 they traveled west to find their retirement home and settled in Mesquite, NV. The loved the desert, razor riding in the mountains and belonged to an off road Jeep club.

Dee Dee was preceded in death by her husband John of 46 years, son Damen, parents Robert and Marilyn Schlotter, brother in law Bob Cox, and parents in law Dutch and Mildred Eggleston.

She is survived by her sister Sharon Cox, sister in law Jane Eggleston, brother in law Stan (Patty) Eggleston, nephew Eric (Deb) Cox, nieces Sara Eggleston, Julie (Michael) Monroe, and Jada Eggleston and special friends Jimmy (Michelle) Curry and family. Dee Dee enjoyed keeping in touch with her many friends and classmates and will be missed by all that knew her.
