VICTOR “MAX” SNODGRASS
Victor “Max” Snodgrass, age 83, of Memphis, Missouri, passed away on April 8, 2024. He was born on October 28, 1940, in Kirksville, Missouri; a son of Victor and Clara (Simerl) Snodgrass.
He graduated from Memphis High School in Memphis, Missouri, in 1958, then graduated from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Science in 1989. He also attended the University of Missouri 1958-1959 and Truman University 1959-1960, where he met Marie, his wife of 63 years. He worked as a quality control engineer for Sheller Globe for 29 years and after his retirement drove for Sharkey Transportation for three years. Max and Marie lived and worked in Keokuk, Iowa, for over 40 years. He farmed throughout his whole life with his parents outside of Memphis, Missouri.
Max valued education for his whole family, including himself. He loved math and collecting coins. Max also loved driving, he and Marie traveled the country throughout their married life. Together, they visited every state in the US except for Alaska and Hawaii. In his retirement, he enjoyed going to “the station” in Memphis most mornings to have coffee with friends. He truly loved farming as well as his antique Farmall tractor and John Deere. Most of all, he cherished his family including all 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Max is survived by Wife, Marie Snodgrass; Children, Belinda Jean Snodgrass Price, Aaron Victor (Krista) Snodgrass, Carla Jo (Eric) Snodgrass Brown, and David Wray (Jeanne) Snodgrass; Grandchildren, Josh Snodgrass, Tim (Rachel) Snodgrass, Anna (JR Stephens) Price, Sara (Zeph) Price Love, Martha (Isaiah) Price Hartweg, Thomas Frederick Price III, Alex (Michelle Woods) Brown, Clarissa (Jake) Brown Katnik, Theo (Brittany) Brown, Hannah Snodgrass, Brianna Snodgrass and Alainna Snodgrass; Great-Grandchildren, Abigail Snodgrass, Aiden Snodgrass, Lillian Snodgrass, Everett Snodgrass, Maxwell Snodgrass, Eva Love, Josiah Love, Emily Love, River Love, Isabella Hartweg, Jeremiah Hartweg, Gabriella Hartweg and Sophie Brown.
Victor was preceded by his Parents, Victor Snodgrass and Clara Cecil Simerl Snodgrass; Son-in-law, Thomas Frederick Price, and Granddaughter Emily Jean Price.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Boyer Event Center, 106 S. Market, Memphis, MO 63555. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
