CONGRATULATIONS to Alison Closser, RN, BSN, as our April Spirit of SCH Winner. Alison is the Emergency Department Supervisor and she works in the Wound Care Clinic. She started working at SCH in 2000. She has worked on the Med-Surg Floor and the OB Department. Here is what her nominator said about her: “Alison is a huge help in the wound clinic. She is always willing to come in to help in the wound clinic and is always helping in the ER department. She has come in on her days off to take care of patients when I am not available, and she never thinks twice about doing so. Recently, she has been helping more in the wound clinic so that others in the department can take care of their family members that have been sick. Wound clinic patients ask about her when she is not there. She has been a staple to this hospital for many years in many different ways.” Alison is a native of Memphis and a 1996 graduate of Scotland County High School. She earned an EMT-Basic license in 1997, and then in 2001 she earned an Associate Degree in Nursing. In 2024, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She is a teacher of the American Heart Association courses – BLS, ACLS, and PALS. She has a nine-year-old son.
