The Scotland County Antique Fair will kick off on the Memphis Square August 22 through August 24. The theme for this year’s fair is “Yesterday’s Memories & Tomorrow’s Future.”
The Downing-Boyer Houses, Memphis Depot, Original Courthouse, and Wiggins Tractor Museum will be open every day of the Antique Fair for all to visit and enjoy.
The Pheasant Airplane will be on display at the Wiggins Tractor Museum.
Be sure to visit all of the local attractions and eat at your favorite food stands and visit the community group stands at the fair.

The Antique Fair will start off on Thursday, August 22 at 5:30 p.m. with the Vesper Service. For more information, contact Jack Sumption at 660- 216-0242.
The Crowning of the King & Queen, Baby Show contestants, and Crowning of the Prince & Princess will take place at 6:00 p.m. For more information about the Baby Show, contact Theresa Shelley at 660-945-3762 pr 660-341-5203. This event is sponsored by OMICRON Theta.
Stick around for music on the stage at 7:30 p.m. with No Apology.
Friday, August 23, the Quilt Show entries will be taken from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Boyer Event Center. For more information about the Quilt Show, contact Donna McDaniel at 660-328- 6614.
The Window Display Results will be at 5:30 p.m. For more information, contact Debbie Kigar at 660- 341-2332.
The Tractor Judging will begin at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Doc Wiggins at 660-465-2177 or Levi Briggs at 660-956- 6350.
Friday evening, Side of Country will entertain the crowd on the stage at 7:30 p.m.
On Saturday, August 24, there will be a lot of fun events taking place for young and old!
The day starts off early at 6:00 a.m. with the Fireman’s Breakfast at the Fire Station.
Lace up your shoes for the 15th Annual 5K which will start at 7:30 a.m. on the South side of the Square. For more information, contact Meagan Weber at 660- 465-8511.
At 8:30 a.m. the Parade will form, and Float Judging will take place. For information about the Parade Horses, contact Roy Monroe at 660-945-3764. For information about the Parade Lineup, contact Todd Cline at 660-342- 0609, Ty Sizemore at 660-956-2210, or Brent Peirick at 636-345- 2919.
The Car Show registration will be from 9:00 a.m. to Noon. There will be trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places. Judging will begin at Noon. For more information, contact Jerry Grosenkemper at 660-465-2537.
The Quilt Show will be showcasing quilts from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Boyer Event Center.
At 9:30 a.m. the Parade will start.

The Tractor Poker Run will start at 1:00 p.m. For more information, contact Dwayne Durham at 660-342-9715.
The Small Engine Judging will start at 3:00 p.m. Saturday. For more information, contact Lance Lewellyn at 660-626-7373.
The Tractor Games will also start at 3:00 p.m. Prizes for this event were donated by the Farm Bureau.
The Mississippi Valley Vintage Race Car Association is hosting the “Show-Me” Hawkeye Futurity event at the Scotland County Speedway. Hot Laps begin at 6:30 p.m. and Racing will follow. For more information, contact Tim Graham at 641-919-7914.
Music will entertain the crowd at the square with StoneHouse at 7:30 p.m.
Other events this year include the Rotary Bingo every evening at 6:00 p.m. and Rotary Chicken on Saturday at the Square after the Parade.
There will also be Homemade Ice Cream on Friday and Saturday and a Meal on the Downing House Lawn after the Parade. These are sponsored by Rutledge School.
