The Board of the City of Downing convened at 6:00pm on November 2, 2020 with Mayor Alan Garrett presiding. Present were Aldermen Gene Bruner, Ray Bange, Bill Anderson and City Clerk Carol Dryden. Also present was Joy VanWye to be sworn in as our new Alderman.
Copies of the Agenda, Minutes of the last meeting, Deposits & Disbursements, Monthly Water Report and Account Balances were given to all present.
Mayor Alan Garrett called the meeting to order:
Joy VanWye was sworn in as the newest Board Member. We are so glad to have her she will make a great addition to our board. Welcome Joy!!!
A motion to approve the Agenda was made by Gene Bruner and seconded by Joy VanWye and carried unanimously.
A motion to approve the Minutes of the last Meeting was made by Gene Bruner and seconded by Joy VanWye and carries unanimously.
A motion to approve the Payment of Bills was made by Joy VanWye and seconded by Gene Bruner and carries unanimously.
Water/Waste Water Report: Every thing seems to be running smoothly. We opened up the Lagoon today so we will start taking over samples to Centerville once a week.
Street Maintenance: Roads are in good shape. Kevin will continue to keep a watch on them. He is getting the equipment ready for the snow.
Cemetery: We received a $80.00 donation from Ora Lunsford. Kevin wanted to know about Head stones that ate leaning or in need of repair. The Board said we need to contact next of kin if possible.
New Business: Talked about getting the front of the building worked on. Needing new trim work and painted.

A motion to Adjourn the meeting at 7:00pm was made by Ray Bange and seconded by Joy VanWye and carried unanimously.
