Quincy Man Killed In Scotland County Crash

A Quincy, Illinois man was Friday afternoon, October 2, in a two-vehicle accident in Scotland County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Thomas Hurt, 27, of Quincy as southbound on County Road 759, eight miles north of Arbela. The 2013 Ford box truck he was driving struck a northbound 2010 John Deere combine, driven by Kenneth Hauk, 67, of Memphis, head on. The truck caught fire and burned.
Hurt was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Jeff Davis.
The accident was investigated by MSHP major crash unit. The MSHP was assisted by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, Scotland County EMS, and the Memphis Police Department.
