The Board of the City of Downing convened at 6:00 pm on September 14, 2020 with Mayor Alan Garrett presiding. Present were Aldermen Ray Bange, Bill Anderson, and Gene Bruner, City Clerk Carol Dryden, and Contract Operator Eric Bowens.
Copies of the Agenda, Minutes of the last meeting, Deposits & Disbursements, Monthly Water Report, Account Balances and new Insurance packet were given to all present.
Mayor Alan Garrett called the meeting to order.
A motion to approve the Agenda was made by Bill Anderson and seconded by Ray Bange and carried unanimously.

A motion to approve the payment of bills was made by Ray Bange and seconded by Bill Anderson and carried unanimously.
John Gillum came to present the board with the 2019 Audit. He went over the findings with the Board. Everything was in order.
Teresa Beeler came to discuss the option of getting a grant to fix up the playground at the Appreciation Days Park. The Board informed her they would sign off on a grant but they really need to get the Park Boards approval as that is all leased to them. She is supposed to get back to us on the matter.
New Business: Deana Petary resigned from the Board as she is moving out of town. We wish her luck.
The Board discussed Clarence Kinney’s request to put in a tube on his new driveway. The Board said that in the ordinances it states that the city pays for one tube per property. If the home owners want another one they will have to put it in themselves. A motion to accept the Insurance Quote was made by Bill Anderson and seconded by Gene Bruner and carried unanimously.
Positive Thoughts: We got some rain. Beautiful weather for September.
A motion to Adjourn the meeting at 7:20pm was made by Ray Bange and seconded by Gene Bruner and carried unanimously.
