On July 17th, Governor Mike Parson appointed the Honorable Rick Roberts as Circuit Judge for the 1st Judicial Circuit. He will fill the Circuit Judge vacancy created by the retirement of the Honorable Gary Dial.
Judge Roberts, of Kahoka, is currently an Associate Circuit Judge in Clark County. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Truman State University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
Judge Roberts had filled the post on an interim basis following the retirement of Dial on April 7, 2020 after 24 years at the post. Roberts will complete the remainder of the unexpired six-year term that Dial was elected to by voters in Scotland, Clark and Schuyler counties in 2016.
