Belief changes life… and lives. While many may regard such as a mere passing vapor of a wishful moment, faith is bedrock solid for a life of effectivity.
One of the monumental differences that faith makes is one’s ability to love others when they are, frankly, a pain in the rear. This is why the Holy Spirit is to be received for we can’t endure such a task without His transfusion of power.
Dr. Larry Crabb wrote, “The mature Christian is one who is growing in his ability to love people as they are, not as he wishes them to be. The purpose of admitting how disappointed we are in everyone is not to fuel our criticism and anger or to fasten the blame for our failures on how our parents raised us. The purpose is precisely the opposite: to expose to ourselves how we wrongly demand that others always come through for us and to learn to move toward them without that demand, to love them freely and genuinely.”
To believe in others is to do more than give a nod of “wishing them well”. Our faith is to be a productive kind of thinking which has an imagination as to how others will be able, by the grace of God, to reverse current downward trends and to begin a rise upward into meaningful living.
To believe in others is our trademark and trade off. We learn to believe that something that doesn’t exist can positively become; all the while we await the same grace from our friends… and our enemies. We are all alike. We don’t need each other’s criticism. We truly need one another’s belief that we can rise into a useful presence.
Each of us is in need of a Force or a Power greater than ourselves for each of us lacks the talent and the skill to make life click on all cylinders. Jesus, however via His Spirit, ascends upon us to bring us into full life.
He didn’t come to earth to make us churchy. Rather, He entered our zone to help to live. The call to believe is incredible because it makes a genuine difference in the holder of such convictions. Too, it transfers us from wishful thinking to wowful experience.
Thank you God for being so good… to all of us!! We really need You!
