The Leslie Chambers Legion Post #395 of Gorin held its annual Memorial Day Celebration on May 24, 2020 at the beautifully mowed and decorated Gorin Cemetery.
The group in unison recited the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem as the avenue of American flags waved around them, Veterans present were introduced and each gave a brief outline of their time in the service.
Elaine Forrester sang a heart-felt rendition of “Sleep Soldier Boy” to fittingly honor those who gave their lives for our country.
Don Tague led a military tribute including a prayer for the fallen soldiers followed by the laying of flowers at the memorial monument by Mooreen Holton, and the traditional gun salute by the honored veterans
The program concluded with David Tague’s solemn playing of TAPS.
