Dorothy Mae Aldridge, age 81, died Wednesday, April 22, 2020 from heart complications at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri. Dorothy had been a resident of the Nursing Home since June 2008.
Dorothy was the first child born to Vernie and Lucille (Byrn) Aldridge on October 20, 1938 at their home in rural Schuyler County, Missouri.
Dorothy is survived by a brother, Larry Aldridge, and his wife, Ilene, of Greentop, Missouri, and a sister, Roerine Snyder, and her husband, Chuck, of Novinger, Missouri; nieces and nephews as follows: Zella (Winn) Thoenen and her husband, Dennis, of Mexico, Missouri; Frank Winn and his wife, Dinah, of Benton City, Missouri; Wayne Winn and his wife, Brenda, of Memphis, Missouri; Kathy (Lewis) Steen and her husband, Paul, of Glenwood, Missouri; Jimmie Winn and his wife, Dorene, of Memphis, Missouri; Chris Aldridge and his wife, Sherry, of Rapid City, South Dakota; Robbie Allen and his wife, Michelle, of Kirksville, Missouri; Carol (Lewis) Raine and her husband, Carl, of Queen City, Missouri; Rex Winn and his wife, Beverly, of Downing, Missouri; Ryan Allen of Kirksville, Missouri; Randall Aldridge and his wife, Jenny, of Memphis, Missouri; several great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Preceding Dorothy in death are her parents, Vernie and Lucille Aldridge; her sister, Beatrice Lewis, and brother-in-law, Tommy Lewis; her sister, Druzella Winn, and brother-in-law, Albert Winn; her brother, Charles Aldridge, and sister-in-law, Ann Aldridge; niece, Lisa Marie Aldridge, in infancy; nephew, Ray Aldridge; nephew, Kenny Lewis; a great-nephew in infancy; and two-great-great nephews in infancy.
Dorothy loved to sing and loved her dolls, Santa Claus, and her dog, Bounce. She was loved by many and will be missed.
Graveside services were under the direction of Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Burial was at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, 2020, in Coffey Cemetery south of Downing, Missouri.
