3L Angus Farms to Host Pasture Walk May 11

A pasture walk will be held in Scotland County at the farm of Garth and Joni Lloyd on Saturday, May 11 beginning at 2:00 pm. The event will provide attendees an opportunity to view the Lloyd’s grazing system and see how they manage fescue in their rotational grazing program. The Lloyds are co-op producers with Pharo Cattle Company and have been utilizing Planned High Stock Density Grazing since 2007. Directions to the farm from Memphis, MO are to take Hwy 15 North approximately 6 miles to Route H. Go east on H approximately 5 miles. Turn left on gravel road, farm will be 1 mile north on the west side of road. Watch for pasture walk signs. The farm is only 5 miles south of Cantril, IA. The event is sponsored by the 4-Corners Grazing Club, a “grazing group” in the Scotland, Clark, Knox and Lewis County area. The goal of the group is to provide an opportunity for producers to share information related to pasture management by visiting and touring operations of other producers. Producers from outside the four county area are invited and encouraged to attend the events.
