The April municipal elections, postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd.
Voters are not used to heading to the polls in June, so local election official, Scotland County Clerk Batina Dodge is offering some tips to make the process as smooth as possible when the polls open on Tuesday, June 2nd for the postponed April municipal elections..
She says “To protect your health and others on Election Day, remember: Have an Election Day Plan.”
Dodge reminds voters of a couple polling place change related to the COVID-19 restrictions.
All voters voting at the courthouse should enter through the south entrance. Voters needing a handicapped-accessible entrance may enter through the north entrance.
Voters who normally vote at Granger will vote at Arbela for the June 2, 2020 Election.
Is your voter registration information up-to-date?
Do you know where your polling place is?
Have you studied your sample ballot to reduce time in the voting booth?
Avoid voting at peak times to reduce exposure to others.
Follow CDC Guidelines for Social Distancing
Hand sanitizer will be offered upon entering the poll.
Maintain adequate distance between yourself and others. Be patient.
Common surfaces and voting equipment will be cleaned and sanitized periodically.
If you are not feeling well, DO NOT enter the poll. Please call ahead for curbside service.
Cast Your Ballot
Place pens and ballot markers where instructed for sanitation before they are re-used.
Deposit your ballot into the ballot box and use hand sanitizer again before exiting the poll.
