The SCR-I 4×800 relay team of Katie Feeney, Khloe Hamlin, Maddie Brassfield and Katelyn Talbert advanced to sectionals with a second place finish at districts.

A number of Scotland County track athletes extended their 2017 season with top four finishes at the Missouri Class 2 District 7 track meet held Saturday, May 6th in Unionville.

Ryan Slaughter captured a district championship in the triple jump with a distance of 41′ 2.75″. He will also advance to sectionals in the long jump after finishing third with a distance of 19′ 6.25″.

Ryan Miller will advance to sectionals in the 800 meter run after a third place showing at districts.

Grant McRobert advanced to sectionals with a third place finish in the shot put.

Grant McRobert finished third and Bryson Orton finished fourth in the shot put to earn the teammates berths at sectionals. McRobert threw the shot 43′ 5.5″ while Orton’s best throw went 42′ 09″.

Katelyn Talbert advanced to sectionals with a third place run in the 300 meter hurdles.

Maddie Brassfield finished third in the 800 meter run to advance as well.

Both girls will team up with Katie Feeney and Khloe Hamlin to run the 4×800 meter relay at least one more time. The relay squad took second place overall.

Carrollton won the boys district title with 109 points. Brookfield was second with 104 followed by Milan (96), Putnam County (76) and South Shelby (76). SCR-I finished seventh out of 12 teams with 42 points.

The Lady Tigers finished 10th with 19 points. Putnam County claimed the girls district title with 123 points to edge Schuyler County (105) and Marceline (101).
