Lucas Howard took top honors in the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles at the Putnam County Relays.

Seven top performances for Scotland County were not quite enough for the Scotland County boys track team to overcome Highland, IA as the Tigers had to settle for second place at the Putnam County Relays on April 11th. The seven wins helped SCR-I rack up 122 total points to edge the host team Putnam County (116) and Milan (102.5). Highland won the event with 186.5 points.

Lucas Howard and Zach Doubet picked up a big chunk of the points for the Tigers. Howard won all four of his events, besting the field in the 110 meter and 300 meter hurdles. He also had the top distances in both the long jump and triple jump.

Doubet piled up the medals as well, winning the 800 meter, 1,600 meter and 3,200 meter runs while finishing fifth in the high jump.

SCR-I’s lone second place showing on the day was by the 4×400 team of Riley Kliethermes, Jade Holt, Ian See and Randan Kraus.

Caleb Doubet was third in the triple jump. He also helped the 4×200 team take third along with See, Holt and Kraus.

Kliethermes took third in the 400 meter dash, sixth in the 100-meter dash and was part of the third place 4×100 relay team along with Holt, C. Doubet and Kraus.

Gavin Hannah was fifth in the shot put. Kraus took fifth in the 110 meter hurdles and Holt was sixth in the 200 meter dash.
