The Scotland County boys varsity track team crossed the border to open the 2013 season on Thursday, March 28th at the Warrior Relays hosted by Van Buren High School.
West Burlington Notre Dame took home top honors with a team score of 150. Keokuk was second with 109 points. SCR-I finished fifth overall with a total of 71 points.
The 4×400 relay team earned first place points for SCR-I. Runners were Terence Durham, Caleb Doubet, Lucas Howard and Zach Miller.
Miller also picked up a second place finish in the long jump, clearing 20′. He was second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.84 seconds and finished fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.51 seconds.
Doubet was sixth in the long jump clearing 18′. Monte Sally added points in the field contests with a third place finish in the discus with a throw of 110’3″.
Howard finished third in the 110-meter hurdles while Brendan Orton was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles. Joseph Hite took fifth in the 800-meter run and Zach Doubet was fifth in the 1,600-meter run.
The Tigers 4×800 relay team of Durham, Z. Doubet, Zack Curry and Hite was fourth.
Also finishing fourth was the shuttle relay consisting of Orton, Chris Jackson, Morgan Carleton and Durham.
The Tigers 4×200 team finished fourth as Orton, Jackson, Evan Hager and Durham combined for a time of 1:42.03.
The distance medley relay was also fourth place finishers. Runners were Jackson, Hager, C. Doubet and Z. Doubet.
Rounding out the day was the fourth place finish by the 4×100 relay team of Orton, Jackson, Hager and Howard.
