With slow moving tractors and antique cars set to take the square Saturday, several area speedsters got the day off to a fast start Saturday morning with the annual Scotland County Hospital 5K/1.5 Mile Fun Run/Walk.

More than 160 participants gathered on the east side of the Memphis City Square at 8 a.m. to take part in the healthy fun.

Bo Thomas turned in the top 5K time of the day, finishing the race in 20:54. The top female performer was Brenna Poe, who ran the course in just 24:44.

The top three performers in the 18 and under class were: Ben Thomas (21:53), Conner Bross (22:54), and Joey Titus (24:44). top female runners in the class were: Haley Darcy (25:46), Anna Monroe (26:29) and Katelyn Talbert (26:30).

Brad Thomas led the 19-29 age group to the finish line in a time of 20:54. Jeff Long was second in 24:27 followed by Dakota Elliot in 24:40. Amy Mathews was the top female runner in the 19-29 age division in a time of 32:27, followed by Betsey Kittle in 33:02 and Elizabeth Dole in 39:30.

In the 30-39 age group, top men’s runners were: Derek Weber (27:27), Rob Miller (27:29) and Andy Miller (28:23). The leading ladies were: Sara Frederick (25:16), Michelle Parrot (27:03), and Katie Tuck (29:00).

The 40-49 age group was all ladies, with Trinity Davis winning in a time of 27:01 followed by Karri Feeney in 29:33 and Lisa Rollison in 32:45.

Dan Hite led the 50-59 age group to the finish line with a time of 27:29. Mark Fryer had the second best finish in 28:01 with Kevin Fromm running the race in 29:56. On the ladies’ side it was Dani Fromm with the top time of 30:44, followed by Charlotte Stelter in 42:42 and Suzie Lister in 51:03.

The best times in the 60+ age division went to Brenton Karhoff in 27:27 and Teresa Cotton in 42:41.
