Days after resigning his post as vocation ag instructor and FFA advisor at Scotland County R-I High School, Corey Stott, 37, of Arbela, was arrested on sexual misconduct charges.

Stott was taken into custody by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office on June 14th on charges of inappropriate conduct towards a student. He faces a class D felony charge of sexual misconduct with a student on public school property, related to a May incident in a SCR-I classroom. He also was charged with a class C misdemeanor of sexual conduct in the third degree for allegedly soliciting the student to engage in sexual conduct.

Stott resigned his position at the school district during a special closed session meeting of the SCR-I Board of Education on Sunday, June 10th.

He was held at the Scotland County Jail before posting a $2,500 cash only bond.

A preliminary hearing has been set for June 26th in the Scotland County Associate Circuit Court.
