Ryan Slaughter wrapped up 73 tackles and made six interceptions during the 2015 football season en route to earning All State honors as determined by the Missouri Football Coaches Association.

Ryan Slaughter wrapped up 73 tackles and made six interceptions during the 2015 football season en route to earning All State honors as determined by the Missouri Football Coaches Association.

Scotland County’s Ryan Slaughter recently was named to the Missouri Football Coaches Association 2015 all-state team. The MFCA releases its final post-season honors on December 4th and Slaughter was among the top 45 defensive players in Missouri, earning third team honors at defensive back.

Slaughter was a unanimous first team selection in the Tri-Rivers Conference. He finished his junior season with 73 tackles and led Scotland County with six interceptions.

He joined Michael O’Brien, a senior from Midway, Tyler Piepmeier, a senior from Appleton City and Trenton Johnson, a senior from Windsor, on the all state third team.

The first team d-backs were junior Cole Wood of Valle Catholic and seniors Kordy Ford of Penney, Den Schnelle of Lockwood and Chase Morrow of South Shelby.

Second team defensive backs were junior Blake Roberts of Lincoln and seniors Adam Cochran of Adrian, Jordan Hendricks of North Platte and Zach Carney of Osceola.

The MFCA offensive player of the year for 2015 was Valle Catholic quarterback Connor Basler. His teammate, and fellow senior Colin Okenfuss was named the Class 1 defensive player of the year while the Warrior’s Judd Naeger was named coach of the year after Valle Catholic claimed the state title with a win over Penney. Marceline and Skyline also advanced to the final four.
