The final Tri-Rivers Conference softball title slipped away from Scotland County on Monday night in Lancaster as Schuyler County rallied for a 2-1 win in the two teams’ regular season finale.

Scotland County jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when Stevi See crushed a leadoff homer over the left field fence.

Ashleigh Creek worked around a two-out triple in the first for the lone base runner allowed in the first three innings.

Schuyler County finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning, taking advantage of an error to knot the score at 1-1.

SCR-I loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the sixth but the Lady Tigers were unable to force a run in.

The momentum of the huge defensive stop carried over into the bottom of the frame for Schuyler County when a pair of two-out hits put the Lady Rams on top 2-1. Gracie Hamilton’s RBI double proved to be the difference maker.

SCR-I was retired in order in the seventh, the lone inning the Lady Tigers did not have a base runner.

Creek took the loss, despite allowing just one earned run on five hits and no walks, while striking out seven.

SCR-I outhit Schuyler County 8-5 on the night. See finished 3-3 with the home run. Creek, Holland, Julie Long and Kaylyn Anders were all 1-3.
