Saturday of the 2017 Scotland County Antique Fair got off to a running start at 8 a.m. as participants in the annual Scotland County Hospital 5K/1.5 K Fun Run, Walk departed the east side of the Memphis Square.
More than 100 entrants participated in this year’s event. Lauren Ewing turned in the top time for the 5K run, crossing the finish line in 19:34. Top male performer was Kenneth Hamilton in a time of 21:06.
In the men’s division, top finishers in the 18 and under category were: Hayden Long (21:45), Owen Triplett (22:09), and Eric Yarbrough (22:27).
The age 19-29 was led by Michael Yarbrough (23:35) and Bo Thomas (32:04) while top finishers in the 30-39 age group were Derek Weber (22:25), Jerry Parrott (26:24) and Andy Miller (26:45).
Leading the Men’s 40-49 division were Mark Wiggins (30:12), Simon Plowman (38:29) and David Jackson (45:15) while the 50 and over division’s top runners were Kevin Fromm (26:48), Mark Fryer (30:03) and Robert Plenge (51:25).
In the women’s divisions, the 18 and under class was won by Hannah Feeney (24:52), followed by Alysa Shirkey (28:36) and Lauren Triplett (30:02).
Top females age 19-29 were Kiley Frazier (27:04), Amy Mathews (27:41), and Megan Hamilton (30:14).
Laura Ussary (22:36) was tops in the 30-39 age class followed by Michelle Parrott (26:02) and Brenna Poe (27:34).
The 40-49 age class was won by Trinity Davis (27:17), followed by Karri Feeney (27:54) and Melinda Briggs (29:40) while the 50 and over division’s top finishers were Dani Fromm (30:12), Angela Hawes (45:10) and Carla Alexander (51:24).
