The roar is returning to Scotland County Speedway this weekend as the track looks to “Spring into the Fall”. With the regularly scheduled Fall Nationals set for October 17th and 18th, fans will get a sneak peak of the grand finale courtesy of this weekend’s 2014 Grand Championship special event, that previously was scheduled for this spring before Mother Nature intervened.
Modifieds, stock cars, sports mods, hobby stocks and sport compacts will all be taking the track in Memphis for a two-day show Friday, September 26th and Saturday, September 27th.
On Saturday, sport compacts will be racing for a $500 top prize while all four other classes will be vying for a top $1,000 payday in the event being sponsored by Golden Furrow Fertilizer, Inc.
Friday night’s pay days range from $600 to $250. The top four in each class on Friday night will be locked into Saturday’s finale, racing with Saturday’s feature winners in a special Dash to determine the top eight starting spots for Saturday’s main events.
Hot laps will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday with racing at 7:30 p.m. Hot laps start at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday with racing at 7 p.m.
