A Queen City man is facing a felony charge after allegedly stealing a tractor in Scotland County.

The Scotland County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of Kyle D. Randol, 23, of Queen City. According to court documents, Randol allegedly  removed a 2011 Case 125 Maxxum tractor from property owned by Donnie Gibson on County Road 664. He allegedly drove the tractor from the property at around 2 a.m. on February 2nd and ultimately became stuck on a dirt road, where the tractor was abandoned.

Investigators indicated the tractor appeared to have sustained engine damage, with the owner estimating damages that could exceed $20,000.

Scotland County Prosecuting Attorney April Wilson has charged Randol with the class D felony of tampering with a motor vehicle in the first degree.

He is being held in the Scotland County Jail on a $1,000 bond.

He appeared in Scotland County Court on February 4th for arraignment by Judge Kimberly Nicoli with a criminal setting scheduled for February 19th at 9 a.m.
