On Saturday, May 2nd, both Memphis FFA trap teams competed in the state trap shoot at Linn Creek, Missouri.  There were 65 teams competing in the FFA division from schools all over the state.

The teams competed last year and they finished a respectable 10th and 28th.  This year they had their sights set higher and wanted to break the top ten and they did just that!  The A-team finished with a score of 474/500.  This team consists of senior Mitch Kraus, juniors Austin Howes, Keenan Bradley and Kyle Clark and sophomore Lane Mohr.

The B-team scored 423//500 and earned a 27th place finish.  This team consisted of seniors Dustin Humphrey and Tristen Hilpert, sophomores Griffan Kerkmann and Chase Cook and freshman Lane Pence.

Lane Mohr lead the A-team, finishing with a 98/100.  He also captured the 2nd place sophomore shooter at the event.

Lane Pence lead the B-team, finishing with a great score of 92/100.

“I am extremely proud of these boys, they definitely earned it.  They practiced hard and some even shot through the winter to stay on their game.  It just shows you really do get out of something what you put into it!  While it is always sad to see our seniors go, I think the future of the trap team looks bright,” stated the team advisor, Waltedda Blessing.
