The Lady Tigers made quick work of Marion County on Monday night in a non-conference matchup in Memphis.

Calesse Bair hit a three-pointer on the opening possession and SCR-I ran out to an 11-1 lead forcing a Lady Mustangs’ timeout with 4:21 left in the game.

Chelsea Wood had six straight points as the SCR-I press was too much for Marion County to handle. Maddie Brassfield scored in the transition before Madie Bondurant put an offensive rebound back up and in to make the score 19-3 at the end of the first quarter.

With a junior varsity tournament game in Unionville, SCR-I dressed just seven girls. Marion County only dressed six, with that number falling to five with an ankle injury just before the half.

SCR-I put the game away with a huge second period. Wood had eight points and Bair and Brassfield each had seven as SCR-I padded the margin to 47-9 at the intermission.

It was more of the same in the third period, as Marion County simply did not have an answer for the inside/outside combo of Wood and Bair who combined for 16 third period points as the lead ballooned to 71-9.

Sadie Davis canned a three-pointer and knocked down a jumper before Ashleigh Creek closed out the scoring with a pair of field goals as SCR-I finished out the game with a running clock with a final score of 85-14.

Scotland County improved to 17-1 with the victory. Bair and Wood each finished with 26 points while Brassfield had 11.
