Levi N. Zimmerman, 83, of Rutledge, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2019 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.

He was born on May 19, 1935, in Lancaster, County, Pennsylvania, the son of Abraham B. and Ada Nolt Zimmerman.

On November 23, 1957, Levi married Leah H. Martin and they lived in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania for fifteen years, where he owned Jacksonville Machine Shop. 

In 1973 they moved to a farm near Rutledge, Missouri, where they farmed for twenty-one years. In 1994 they moved to Paris, Missouri, where he was semi retired and built modified shovels. In 2011 they returned to a house on the farm at Rutledge to live out his days close to his family.

Levi had an inventive mind. He loved to weld and build things, and was happiest when he had something new to design and create. 

Levi was a member of the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Leah Zimmerman; his children, Mary (Craig) Honigmann of Myerstown, PA, Lucy (Mark) Eby of New Holland, PA, Philip Zimmerman of Ephrata, PA, Joseph (Brenda) Zimmerman of Manheim, PA, David (Ella Mae) Zimmerman of Reinholds, PA, Ada Zimmerman of Rutledge, MO, Abraham (Martha) Zimmerman of Rutledge, MO, and Martha (Lavon) High of Cantril, IA; 44 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul (Lydia) Zimmerman of Rutledge, MO, David (Alma) Zimmerman of Lancaster County, PA and Titus (Geraldine) Zimmerman of Oklahoma; two sisters, Ada (Lloyd) Sensening of Lebanon County, PA and Anna (Marvin) Reiff of Manheim, PA; a foster sister, Carmen Forney of Lebanon County, PA; three sisters-in-law, Edith Zimmerman of Lebanon County, PA, Julia Zimmerman of Memphis, MO and Erma Zimmerman of Orrstown, PA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Levi was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, Jonas, Noah, Abram, Harvey, George, Enos and Ivan Zimmerman; three sisters, Mary, Alta and Frances Zimmerman; and two grandchildren, Karla and Anthony Zimmerman. 

Funeral services were April 2, 2019, at the Millport Mennonite Church, south of Rutledge, Missouri. 

Burial was in the Millport Mennonite Cemetery, south of Rutledge, Missouri.
