Kylee Stott races in from right field to make a nice running catch to help preserve the SCR-I no hitter.

The bus ride to Shelbyville may have lasted longer than Tuesday night’s softball contest as Scotland County made quick work of North Shelby, routing the Lady Raiders 20-0 in three innings of play.

Sophomore Kaitlyn McMinn tossed an abbreviated no-hitter for the Lady Tigers, allowing a lone base runner on a fielding error, while striking out five.

Katie Feeney led off the game with a base hit and stole a base, before scoring on a groundout by Kaylyn Anders. Ashleigh Creek followed with a walk. She stole a base and came in to score on a North Shelby error to give SCR-I a 2-0 lead.

The Lady Tigers blew the game open with a two-out rally in the top of the second inning. Feeney knocked in a pair of runs with a double. The extra-base hits continued to flow as Anders tripled and Creek doubled. SCR-I sent 15 batters to the plate in the inning, plating nine runs. Kylee Stott added an RBI single and Feeney drove in another run with a base hit in her second at bat of the frame.

Nine was the number for SCR-I on the night, as the Lady Tigers posted back-to-back big innings with a nine-run outburst in the top of the third. Stevi See had an RBI single to get the inning started. An error with the bases loaded let two more runs cross the plate. Feeney added another RBI hit before Anders delivered a two-run double.

Anders went 2-4 with four RBIs in the win. Feeney was 4-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
