On the strength of a 19-1 record at the district seeding meeting, Scotland County earned the top seed in the Missouri Class 2 District 6 basketball Tournament scheduled for February 22nd – February 27th at Schuyler County High School in Queen City.
The Tigers earned the #3 seed in the boys bracket.
The Lady Tigers will take on #8 seed Milan (4-15) in the opening round at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23rd. The winner will advance to the semifinals to take on the victor of Tuesday’s 4:30 p.m. game between #4 seed Marceline (12-8) and #5 Putnam County (8-11). That semifinal game will be played at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 25th.
The other girls first round games pit #2 Schuyler County (15-6) vs. #7 Princeton (7-10) to be played Monday at 7 p.m.; and #3 Knox County (15-6) vs. #6 Northland Christian High School of Kansas City (10-6) set for 4:30 p.m. tipoff on Monday. The winners will play in a semifinals matchup at 7 p.m. on February 25th.
The girls district title game is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 27th.
The Tigers will take on #6 seed Putnam County in a boys first round game at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23rd. The winner will take on the victor of #2 Marceline (14-5) vs. #7 Milan (3-16) that will tipoff at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. That semifinal game is set for Thursday, February 25th at 5:45 p.m.
On the other side of the bracket, top seeded Knox County (13-8) will take on Northland Christian High School (4-8) at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. #4 Schuyler County (11-10) will do battle with #5 Princeton (12-7) at 8:15 p.m. The winners will meet in the semifinals at 8:15 p.m. on February 25th.
The boys district championship will be played at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 27th.
