Kenny Vern Lewis, 48, of Memphis, MO passed away on Thursday afternoon, April 13, 2017, at his home. The son of Tommy and Beatrice (Aldridge) Lewis, he was born on June 22, 1968 in Kirksville, MO. He was raised in Downing, MO and attended Schuyler County Schools. He married Tina (Clark) Lewis on March 5, 1993. Unto this union three children were born, Brad, Bryan, and Kiley.

Kenny was a devoted father and husband. His pride and joys were his grandchildren Weston, Ledger, and Finleigh. He was a jack of all trades. He enjoyed farming, taking care of his cattle, and dozing. He was a dedicated member of the VFW Post #4958. He loved to derby in his younger years, along with truck pulls, playing cards, and hunting with his boys. His favorite music to listen to was the voice of his daughter. His friends were more like brothers and sisters. If they ever needed him, he was just a phone call away.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Tommy and Beatrice, both his grandparents, and a sister in law Teresa Johnson.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Tina (Clark) Lewis; three children, Brad Lewis and special friend, April Engelbrecht of Memphis, MO, Bryan (Tabitha) Lewis of Memphis, MO, Kiley Lewis, of the home; three grandchildren, Weston Lewis, Ledger and Finleigh Lewis; two sisters, Kathy (Paul) Steen, of Glenwood, MO and Carol (Carl) Raine, of Queen City, MO; along with several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, April 17, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Payne Funeral Chapel in Memphis with Pastor David Barton officiating the service. Interment followed in the Lawn Ridge Cemetery in rural Scotland County, Missouri.

Pallbearers were Brad Lewis, Bryan Lewis, Brian Byrn, Tony Shelley, Kelly Robinson, Stacie Westhoff, Jamie Robinson, James Baker, Randy Mauck and Jerad Fuller. Honorary pallbearers were Roger Robinson, Bill Camp, Larry Curry, Justin Fuller, David Curry, Norman Goucher, Alex Curry, Jimmy Curry, Bruce Parsons, Doug Brown, Colby Brown, Jim Curry, Steve Robinson, Doug Byrn, David Kirkpatrick and Ryan Kirkpatrick.
