Jauflione Chapter NSDAR held its regular meeting on Friday, May 2, 2014, at the Presbyterian Church in Memphis.  The meeting was called to order by Regent June Kice.  The meeting was conducted in a ritualistic form.  Roll call was answered by eleven members.  Devotion and prayer was given by Chaplain Nelda Billups, reading Psalm 100 verses 1-5.

Reta reported we need more recipes for our cookbook.

Mother’s Day was started in 1872 by Julia Ward Howe.  She suggested that people observe a Mother’s Day on June 2nd as a day of peace.  Later, Anne Jarvis was responsible for making the change to celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday in May.

Members gave a little story on their favorite president.  District Director, Susan Miller, wasn’t at the meeting as she was at state with our scrap book where it won a blue ribbon.

President General Message was read by Nelda Billups.  Indian Minute was read by June Kice.  The National Defense lesson was read by Marlene Cowell.  Junce Kice read the Constitution Minute.  Many places were talked about for our June road trip.  It will be decided in June.

Verlee Dauma gave a history tidbit.  She also won an award for her good work on the computer and as our Registrar.
